The 2025 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is available in three distinct models: S 500, S 580, and S 580e. Each model is differentiated primarily by its powertrain configuration and specialized features. The S 500 features a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder turbocharged mild-hybrid engine generating 442 horsepower and 413 lb.-ft of torque. Moving up to the S 580 brings a 4.0-liter V8 twin turbo engine with mild-hybrid assistance, producing 496 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft of torque. The S 580e utilizes a plug-in hybrid system combining a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder turbocharged engine with an electric motor for a total system output of 510 horsepower.
