The Prelude is an all-new hatchback model and is different from the old coupe body style that was discontinued in the early 2000's.

The 6th generation Prelude makes its debut after more than two decades, bringing in a lot of new technology and a brand-new design, featuring a hatchback body style which is different from its coupe predecessor. The new sporty model comes in two trims, the base option or the two-tone option. Power is made by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor that combined make 200 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque, all sent to the front wheels via Honda's new S+ shift transmission that acts more like an automatic transmission with gears even though it is a CVT. Suspension components are sourced from the Civic Type R which include the cross member, suspension geometry, dampers, and brakes, giving the Prelude exceptional handling helping it carve corners.

The Prelude comes well equipped with push button start, an electric parking brake with auto hold, 19-inch wheels, large Brembo front brakes, 4-mode drive mode selector, rain sensing wipers, and remote engine start. LED Headlamps, taillamps, and side marker lights light up the surroundings and the road ahead.

Moving on to the interior, one can see high quality materials and features such as leather-trimmed seats and leather steering wheel, 6-way manual adjusting driver seat and 4-way adjusting passenger seat, both with standard heating. The dual-zone automatic climate control system maintains temperature control at all times. Other comfort features include a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, 9-inch colour infotainment screen with three years of google built-in and Alexa built-in, Hondalink services, Bose premium sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger.

Safety is not a concern with the Prelude as it comes well equipped with driver and passenger front, side, and knee airbags, rear side airbags and curtain airbags, rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines, and brake assist. This new model also comes with Honda Sensing features like forward collision warning with collision mitigation, lane departure warning with lane departure mitigation, lane keep assist system, adaptive cruise control, blind spot information system, rear cross traffic monitor, and 8 parking sensors.

The new Honda Prelude is meant to feel sporty and nimble, similar to the Civic Type R but with less power and an added hybrid powertrain. It competes in the same class as the Toyota GR86, and although the Toyota delivers a more traditional sport coupe feel with a non-hybrid powertrain and rear-wheel drive options, the Honda Prelude offers a less conventional package with its front-wheel drive hybrid drivetrain paired with suspension components from the Civic Type R and a high-performance chassis that takes the prelude's handling to the next level.
