Toyota Sequoia
The 2026 Toyota Sequoia model line consists of SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, Capstone, and TRD Pro models. All models get a 437-horsepower, 3.4L twin turbo V6 hybrid powertrain rated at 21 mpg city and 24 mpg highway for RWD Sequoias.
The optional 4-wheel-drive system includes a 2-speed transfer case with a true low range good for serious off-roading and other heavy-duty tasks. Switching between the system's modes only involves turning a simple knob on the console.
Thanks to an independent front suspension with tubular anti-roll bars and a multi-link rear suspension, the Sequoia rides and handles quite well. An available air suspension on the Platinum, 1794 Edition, and Capstone Sequoia further improves comfort and towing. Stopping power is substantial with 13.9" discs on the front and 13.6" discs on the rear for all trims.
Proof that the Sequoia was built to handle demanding towing tasks, the SUV's tow hitch is integrated into the frame. This allows tow ratings to range as high as 9000 Ibs, and the transmission includes a tow/haul mode to utilize engine braking. Eight-passenger seating is standard on the SR5 and Limited trims for the Sequoia while the Platinum, 1794 Edition, Capstone, and TRD Pro come with seven seats.
One of the best things about the Sequoia is that although it wears a Toyota badge, it has an interior well-equipped enough to feel like a Lexus. The extensive standard-equipment list includes a 3-zone climate control system, a sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, Smart Key keyless entry, Dynamic Radar Cruise control, and a power-folding third-row seat. HD Radio and Sirius XM satellite radio are standard and the Platinum, 1794 Edition, Capstone, and TRD Pro receive an upgraded audio system with 14 speakers.
The Limited trim adds 20-inch gray-painted and machined-finish alloy wheels, heated and ventilated leather 10-way power-adjustable seats, a power liftgate, and voice activated navigation.
The Platinum adds 20-inch dark-gray alloys, the load-leveling air suspension, memory driver's seat, ventilated front seats and second-row heated seats, LED daytime running lights, and a 14-inch touchscreen.
The 1794 Edition, a high-end, Texas-inspired luxury trim, commemorates a San Antonio ranch which was established on the site where the Sequoia is now assembled. Along with 20-inch machined-finish alloy wheels, and chrome-finished grille and exterior accents, particularly noteworthy is the Saddle Tan leather interior with American walnut wood-grain trim in keeping with the flavor of the 1794 Edition.
The Capstone, the top luxury trim, reinforces the luxury quality of the Sequoia by adding 22-inch dark chrome and machined-finish alloy wheels, textured leather-trimmed seats, power-extending running boards, and a 10-inch head-up display.
The TRD Pro is the off-road model which features black 18-inch forged aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires, a TRD off-road suspension with FOX Internal Bypass coil-overs and rear remote-reservoir shocks and a TRD Pro front stabilizer bar, black exterior accents, five skid plates, LED daytime running lights, and off-road low-speed cruise control.
Safety features across the lineup include parking sensors, active lane departure, blind spot warning, forward and rear collision mitigation, front pedestrian detection, a driver attention alert, and traffic sign information system.
