BMW XM
For the 2026 model year, BMW has streamlined the high-performance XM lineup, offering only a single, top-tier XM Label trim. The XM is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and comes exclusively in an all-wheel drive, powered by a sophisticated hybrid system that combines a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 engine with an electric motor mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The V8 engine itself delivers a robust 577 horsepower and 553 lb.-ft of torque. With the electric motor contributing an additional 194 horsepower, the total system output reaches an impressive 738 horsepower. The hybrid system also provides practical benefits, offering an all-electric range of approximately 31 miles, ideal for urban commuting.
The XM comes generously equipped with a focus on luxury, technology, and performance. Exterior standard equipment includes 23-inch machined aluminum wheels, an adaptive suspension, and front and rear painted calipers. Lighting is comprehensive with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and LED brake lights, complemented by auto-leveling directionally adaptive headlights and auto high-beam. The vehicle also features power-folding heated exterior mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, and a power-operated liftgate.
The interior boasts luxurious leather upholstery on both the seats and dashboard, highlighted by sport pedals and customizable ambient lighting. Seating includes 12-way power-adjustable front sport bucket seats with 4-way power lumbar support, heating, ventilation, and massage functions for both driver and passenger, along with driver and passenger seat memory settings. The cabin environment is maintained by an automatic dual-zone climate control system with separate rear zone controls and features eight heated and cooled beverage holders.
Technological features are centered around a 14.9-inch touchscreen display, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and an integrated navigation system with voice activation. The audio experience is provided by a 20-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System and SiriusXM satellite radio. Connectivity options include wireless phone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless device charging, six USB ports, and three 12V DC power outlets.
Driver assistance features are extensive, featuring adaptive cruise control with traffic stop-go, a 360-degree surround-view camera system, a head-up display, and a low tire pressure warning system (tire specific). Convenience is enhanced by keyless entry, proximity key, push-button start, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and a heated leather sport steering wheel with power tilt and telescoping functionality.
The 2026 BMW XM comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistance features. Standard mechanical safeguards include an anti-lock braking system (ABS), stability and traction control, hill hold control, hill descent control, and a six-airbag system. The vehicle's active safety suite features forward and rear collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, blind spot detection with intervention, and active lane departure warning. To enhance driver awareness, the XM also integrates front and rear parking sensors, front cross-traffic warning, traffic sign recognition, and a driver attention monitoring system.
