The GX 550 is offered in three trim levels: Premium, Luxury and Overtrail with Plus versions of all three. There is a single powertrain on offer in the GX 550, a 3.4L twin turbo V6 that provides 349 hp and 479 pound-feet of torque. This engine is exclusively combined with a seamless and responsive 10-speed automatic transmission, which channels power to a standard full-time four-wheel-drive system featuring a lockable Torsen limited-slip center differential. This configuration results in a notable improvement in acceleration and responsiveness over the prior GX model. Merging onto highways and performing overtaking maneuvers is accomplished with ease, as the generous low-end torque allows the GX to feel nimbler than its substantial size would imply. The 2025 GX is equipped with the standard Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which features a range of advanced driver-assistance systems. This all-encompassing package includes front and rear parking sensors, active lane departure, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, forward and rear collision mitigation, front pedestrian detection, and a traffic sign information system.
