BMW 4 Series
The BMW 4-Series is available in two different body styles: coupe and a convertible in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configuration. There are two engines available in the 4-Series: the 430i models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that produces 255 horsepower mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The performance-oriented M4 gets the long-time traditional inline six-cylinder 3.0L twin-turbo engine with a 6-speed manual transmission that produces an impressive 473 horsepower and 406 lb.-ft of torque. The M4 Competition uses the same engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission tuned to produce 503 horsepower. However, all the M4 models are rear-wheel-drive only.
The M440 is available in both RWD and AWD, and it is powered by a 3.0L turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine that produces 382 horsepower.
Trim levels are all similarly equipped across the 4-Series. Notable features include 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, heated side mirrors with power-folding function, 10-way power adjustable front seats, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, BMW's iDrive system with a 14.9-inch display screen, cruise control, and rain-sensing wipers.
The M4 being the sportier model in the lineup, includes several added standard features such as adaptive sport suspension, integrated navigation, and a premium 16-speaker surround audio system.
Since the various trims within the 4-Series share similar equipment levels, BMW offers a range of optional packages and features that can be added to further customize the vehicle.
Available safety features include front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning system, blind spot monitoring, forward and rear collision mitigation, pedestrian detection system, driver attention alert, and a traffic sign recognition system.
